It has been reported by the guys over at buzzbizznews.com that the iPhone 4G which we have all been following with various rumours and of course the story in relation to Gizmodo and the phone found in the bar that the device will be launched on June 22.
The release date will be announced at the launch. Apple have booked the Yerba Buena Centre in San Francisco for June 22nd. The last time we saw Apple at the Yerba Buena Centre was at the launching of the Apple iPad, so we can assume that a product launch will be taking place on June 22nd.
Pictures of the iPhone 4G prototype have been floating around the web for a while now, most of which have arrived since the prototype iPhone was found in a bar, which has transpired was owned by Gary Powell an Apple technician. The phone was left on a stool and picked up by a customer in the same bar. That person then sold it on to Gizmodo.
The pictures have been confirmed as being the real thing and subsequently Apple demanded the swift return of the iPhone, which they then confirmed was a prototype. The news surrounding this story seems to be getting hotter as we have reported previously here.
Gizmodo could be in a spot of bother with the authorities, as purchasing an item which has been found is illegal, and a search warrant has been placed on the property of the owner of Gizmodo.
